This year, it was a little different. We are introduced a bridegroom of Jisun. Jisun is special for me, for she was the first baby in my parent's house since we were all grown up.
And I was living with my big brother when he got married, I could wahtc her her growing for the first two or three years.
July 2 is the day 'ham' is coming in. It is a old custom that bridgroom's family send a letter to ask for marriage with precious gift to bride's family.
I was honored to pray for the event. Actually dad was first asked to come and pray for it, but he had another appointment.
So, I decided to do a group prayer with a kind Teze prayer.
Each family member say a blessing for marriage, the the rest of family say, "Lord, listen to our prayer." Jisun cried when her mom and her brother says blessing. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the wedding, when there is no rehearsal dinner, or wedding reception like in the States. Little opportunity to express their feelings in an official manner.
Though, it was shocking when I heard my big brother says to be a good wife to assist for a successful husband, honor parent- in- law.
Poor my big brother! He still live in Lee dynasty period.
Sigh!
Jisun would not take all what her dad says as it is, I hope.
Should I see her and tell her you do not take it too seriously?
Kwan-young Kim is groom's name.
He seems nice.
They met at young adult leader group at the Church of Love.
I blessed them with a prayer to hug, laugh, talk a lot, argue a little bit.
